Anantnag is one of six districts of Kashmir valley in the south and southwest. Geographically the district lies between 33 or -20 to 34 ° -15 'north latitude and 74 ° -30 to -35 or 75'de east, bordering the north and north-west of Srinagar and Pulwama districts respectively and north-east of Kargil district.
