Udhampur is a city and a municipal council in Udhampur district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Serves as a district capital and the headquarters of Northern Command of the Army of India. An advance Base Support Unit (FBSU) of the India Air Force has also stationed there. Udhampur is used by the military as a transit point between Jammu and Srinagar to travel by road (National Highway Number 1 A).
